Tata Punch EV Launching Soon – What All We Know So Far

The impending market launch of the Tata Punch EV is drawing near, although the automaker has yet to disclose the specific launch date. Anticipated to make its debut in the coming months, this electric micro SUV has undergone extensive testing, with glimpses of its test mules providing intriguing insights. Recent sightings have confirmed that several EV-specific cosmetic modifications will distinguish its electric variant.

One notable feature is the front bumper-mounted charging port, immediately catching the observer’s attention. The Punch EV is set to showcase subtle changes to its front grille, complemented by a full-width LED DRL running seamlessly across the hood. Retaining the integrity of the headlamp and fog assemblies, the electric version is expected to feature distinctively designed alloy wheels compared to its regular counterpart.

The inclusion of an ORVM with an integrated camera strongly suggests the incorporation of a 360-degree surround camera system. Additional design highlights comprise roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, a high-mounted stop lamp, and a rear wiper, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality. Read: 4 Soon-to-be-Launched Tata SUVs

While the interior remains undisclosed, reports indicate that the Tata Punch EV may boast a new and larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. Notably, the addition of an electric sunroof positions the Punch EV as India’s most affordable electric car to offer this feature, albeit exclusively for higher trims. Further distinguishing features on these trims include a new two-spoke steering wheel, a circular display-integrated gear selector dial, rear disc brakes, and an electronic parking brake.

Drawing parallels with the updated Nexon EV, the Tata Punch EV model lineup is expected to feature two variants: Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR). Official details on the powertrain are yet to be unveiled, but it is likely to incorporate Tata’s Ziptron technology. Prospective buyers can choose from two battery pack options, offering a range of approximately 200km to 300km on a full charge.
