Tata Punch EV Battery Details Leaked – Range, Power

The long wait for the Tata Punch EV is set to conclude on January 17, 2024, with the official price announcement. Prior to its market debut, details about its powertrain specifications have surfaced online. According to leaked information, the model will be available in two variants – Standard Range and Long Range – equipped with battery sizes of 25kWh and 35kWh, respectively. The smaller 25kWh battery will generate 82PS of power and 114Nm of torque, while the larger 35kWh battery pack will deliver 122PS and 190Nm.

The expected range for the Tata Punch EV is around 315km for the Standard Range variant and 400km for the Long Range variant. It’s important to note that these figures are yet to be officially confirmed by the carmaker. The new Tata EV is built on the brand’s Acti.EV (Advanced Connected Tech Intelligent Electric Vehicle) platform, capable of accommodating various body sizes, powertrains, and drivetrains. It supports both 11kW AC and up to 150kWh fast DC charging.

Several teasers have already revealed key features of the Punch EV, including a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The updated center console features a touch-sensitive AC control panel. The feature list is extensive, including a 360-degree camera, wireless smartphone charging, ventilated front seats, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, new dual-tone upholstery, air purifier with AQI display, a sunroof, auto-fold ORVMs, electronic stability program, cruise control, and six airbags.

Bookings for the Tata Punch EV are already underway, with prices expected to start from Rs 12 lakh for the entry-level variant and go up to Rs 14 lakh for the top-end variant. If launched within this price range, the micro EV will compete with models like the Citroen eC3 and MG Comet EV.
