Tata Motors has posted its best ever monthly sales in the month of January 2022. The company sold a total of 40,777 cars last month, which also includes 2,892 electric vehicles. What’s more interesting is that the brand’s market share has not reached to 14%. It is currently India’s third largest carmaker, and the difference between Tata and Hyundai is not very huge.
January 2022 sales data also suggest that Tata Motors two products – the Nexon and the Punch have entered the list of top 10 selling cars in India. In fact, the Tata Nexon is currently India’s 4th most selling product. The company sold 13,816 units of the Nexon compact SUV in January 2022 as against 8,225 units in the same month last year. It recorded an impressive Year-On-Year growth of 67.98 percent.
The Tata Nexon has also become India’s best selling SUV in the month of November 2022. The sub-4 meter SUV has managed to outsell some of the popular SUVs including the Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Creta, Venue, Kia Seltos and others. In fact, Maruti Brezza and the Hyundai Creta are not even in the list of top 10 selling cars.

Tata Motors newest offering Punch micro SUV has also managed to enter this list, as it stood at 10th position. Tata Motors delivered 10,027 units of the Punch in the month of January 2022. The small SUV has been receiving overwhelming response from buyers. It commands a waiting period of around 5-6 months.
Tata Motors is aiming to further boost sales by introducing more CNG and electric vehicles in the country. The company has also started testing the CNG version of the Nexon compact SUV. It will become the only model to be offered with petrol, diesel, electric and CNG powertrains.
