Tata Curvv SUV Launching Soon – Petrol, Electric, CNG Options?

The Tata Curvv SUV stands as one of the most eagerly awaited new car launches set to captivate enthusiasts in 2024. This model, having initially graced the global stage in its concept form at this year’s Auto Expo, has been a subject of intrigue as spy images of its test mules, shrouded in heavy cladding, have surfaced.

These glimpses suggest that the SUV will maintain its distinctive coupe-esque silhouette, accentuated by a sloping rear roofline. Although, there are indications that the rear quarter glass might not feature in the final design. An intriguing addition to the Tata lineup, the Curvv SUV will notably introduce the flush-type door handles, a first for the brand.

Turning our attention to the interior, expectations run high for a layout mirroring the concept, featuring a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an expansive infotainment system boasting the latest in smartphone connectivity. Enhancing its appeal could be a 360-degree camera, HUD unit, front and rear parking sensors, ventilated front seats, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) technology, Isofix child seat mounts, and six airbags.

The most intriguing aspect lies in its powertrain options. The Tata Curvv SUV will initiate its journey with an electric powertrain, paving the way for a subsequent release of its petrol version. The electric iteration is rumored to deliver an impressive range of up to 500km on a single charge, although details regarding its battery pack and specifications remain undisclosed. On the other hand, the internal combustion engine (ICE) version will mark the debut of Tata’s new 1.2L turbo petrol engine, boasting a robust 125PS and 225Nm.

Rumour has it that the Tata Curvv will also be offered with CNG powertrain (with twin cylinder setup) option at a later starge. Buyers can opt for both manual and automatic gearbox options, with reports hinting at the possibility of a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission sourced from the updated Nexon.
