Tata Curvv Petrol/Diesel To Launch After 3-4 Months of Curvv EV

Tata Curvv is going the next big product launch from the indigenous automaker in the country. This coupe SUV recently made its public debut in a pre-production avatar at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Global Expo in Delhi, generating substantial anticipation among enthusiasts. The company has officially announced that the Curvv EV is scheduled for launch in the second quarter of the fiscal year 2024-25, with the ICE (petrol and diesel) variants expected to follow within 3-4 months of the electric model’s release. This timeline indicates a potential arrival of the electric SUV between July and September, while the Curvv petrol and diesel versions are anticipated to hit the market around the 2024 festive season.

Powertrain Variants – Petrol, Diesel, Electric

In terms of powertrains, the Tata Curvv will introduce the brand’s latest 1.2L turbo petrol engine, showcased at the previous year’s Auto Expo. Generating a peak power output of 125PS and torque of 225Nm, this engine will be available with both manual (6-speed) and DCT automatic (7-speed) transmissions. Leveraging high-pressure direct injection technology and advanced combustion systems, Tata’s new petrol motor boasts an all-aluminium construction for enhanced efficiency. The diesel variant of the SUV is expected to share its engine with the Nexon, featuring a 1.5L oil burner producing 115bhp and 260Nm of torque. As for the electric model, based on the Acti.ev platform, it promises a range exceeding 500km on a full charge, although specific powertrain details are yet to be revealed.

Feature-Rich Interior

Leaked patents indicate that the Curvv will mark Tata’s first model to feature a Heads-Up Display (HUD) positioned directly behind the steering wheel. Additionally, it will incorporate ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology, providing access to advanced safety features such as autonomous emergency braking, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, and blind spot monitoring.

The SUV’s extensive feature list will also include a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, a new two-spoke steering wheel design, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a floating touchscreen infotainment system.
