Tata Altroz CNG Booking, Variant & Launch Details Revealed

Bookings for the upcoming Tata Altroz CNG have been commenced in the country. Interested buyers can pre-book the model by paying a sum of Rs 21,000. Its prices are expected to be announced next month (May 2023). Once launched, the Altroz CNG will directly take on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG and Toyota Glanza CNG that cost between Rs 8.35 lakh – Rs 9.28 lakh and Rs 8.45 lakh – Rs 9.48 lakh respectively. It will be the third model from the home-grown automaker to come with a factory-fitted CNG kit, the first two are Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG.

Engine setup of the Altroz CNG includes a 1.2L, 3-cylinder Revotron petrol engine, paired to a factory-fitted CNG kit. While hatchback puts out a maximum power of 86bhp and 113Nm of torque in petrol mode, it generates power worth 77bhp and 97Nm of torque in CNG mode.

The hatchback’s CNG version will come with a single 5-speed manual gearbox. The Altroz CNG can be started directly in CNG mode as we have seen in the Tiago and Tigor CNG. The carmaker hasn’t yet revealed its mileage figure, but it’s expected to offers a fuel efficiency of 26.49km/kg (which is exactly similar to the Tiago and Tigor CNG) .

Save for the ‘iCNG’ badge on the tailgate, the Tata Altroz CNG looks exactly similar to the regular petrol model. What’s interesting here is the hatchback comes with a new dual-cylinder setup, placed under the boot floor. This arrangement ensures enough boot space. The twin cylinders have combined tank capacity of 60-litres – i.e. 30-litres each cylinder.

The Tata Altroz CNG will be made available in XE, XM+ and XZ trims. Some of its key features will include a 7.0-inch infotainment system with 4 speakers and 2 tweeters, voice recognition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, electrically adjustable and auto folding wing mirrors, remote keyless entry with push-button start, auto start/stop, cruise control, a 7.0-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear lever, height adjustable driver seat and front seatbelts, rear AC vents, rear 12V socket,16-inch alloy wheels and more.
