The first electric car from Skoda India will be the Enyaq iV that will go on sale by March 2024. The carmaker imported the vehicle for testing purpose here a few months back. It’s an electric crossover designed on Volkswagen Group’s MEB born electric platform that has scalable battery system and enables a large model variety in e-mobility. It has single-motor, RWD and dual-motor, AWD system options. The same architecture underpins the Volkswagen ID4 that will also make its way to India.
Dimensionally, the Skoda Enyaq iV measures 4648mm in length, 1877mm in width and 1618mm in height with a wheelbase of 2765mm. The Kodiaq is longer and taller than the electric crossover. The model that was spotted in India was the Enyaq iV 80x featuring a 77kWh battery pack and dual motors, AWD setup. It’s claimed to offer a range of up to 513km (WLTP-rated) that will make it the longest-range electric car in India. The electric crossover can do 0 to 100kmph in 6.9 seconds.
Talking about its key features, the Enyaq iV has a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the smartphone connectivity, a digital instrument console, leather-wrapped steering wheel, upholstery with mix of leather and microfibre fabric, ambient lighting, air conditioning with MySKODA app controls and more. On the safety front, it offers up to 9 airbags, proactive crew protect assist, ABS with EBD, adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance assist, park assist, parking sensors and turn assist. Upfront, the electric crossover has the signature Skoda grille with 131 LEDs, full LED matrix headlights and windscreen integrated camera. It has been equppied with the 19-inch Proteus alloy wheels and full LED taillamps.
The Czech automaker has revealed that the Skoda Enyaq iV will be here for testing the market. If the market is positive, it will bring in more EV cars.
