Skoda Auto today announced prices of the new Rapid Matte Edition for the Indian market. The new special model comes with the same 1.0, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 6-speed manual and torque convertor automatic gearbox options. The Skoda Rapid Matte Edition manual has been priced at Rs 11.99 lakh and the automatic model costs Rs 13.49 lakh. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom, India. The company is also offering Skoda Shield Plus warranty package that includes 6 years of a hassle-free ownership experience, motor insurance, 24X7 roadside assistance and an extended warranty. The automaker says that the new Skoda Rapid Matte Edition “sports many new features which makes the car distinctive and adds dynamism to the Rapid line-up”.
The special model is painted in exclusive carbon steel matte colour scheme. Upfront, it features a new glossy black radiator grille and spoiler. The door handles and black tailgate spoiler also have glossy black finish. The black body side moulding, black alloy wheels, rear diffuser and black trunk lip garnish add more to its sporty appeal. The carmaker says that the Rapid Matte Edition is exclusively offered with the high visibility performance bulbs.
Inside, the special Rapid Edition has dual-tone Tellur Grey theme with premium black leatherette upholstery with Alcantara inserts. It also gets a USB air purifier and stainless steel scuff plates with Rapid inscription. Similar to the regular model, the Rapid Matte Edition comes with the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a flat bottom steering wheel, automatic AC unit, rear parking camera, reverse camera, cruise control, hill hold control, 4 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), anti-lock braking system (ABS) and more.
