Skoda Kushaq To Get Standard Sunroof, No Panoramic; Specs Revealed

Skoda will reveal the production ready Kushaq mid-sized SUV by March 2021. The SUV is scheduled to be launched in the second quarter of 2021, most probably in June-July. The production version of the Skoda Kushaq will mark the debut of brand’s heavily localised MQB AO IN platform, which will also underpin the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun.

Skoda Kushaq Engine Options

The Skoda Kushaq mid-sized SUV will be offered with 2 engine options – a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol. The power and torque figures are yet to be released. It is expected that the 1.0L engine could produce around 120PS and 200Nm of torque. The turbocharged petrol engine is capable of producing 147bhp of power and 250Nm of torque.

The 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine will come with two gearbox options – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The 1.5L engine will be offered with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

Standard Sunroof

The new generation Skoda Kushaq will come equipped with a standard sunroof and not the panoramic one. Adding to it, the SUV will come with several high-end safety and security features such as ESP (Electronic Stability Control), Six airbags, hill hold control, ISOFIX tethers for rear seats, rain and light sensing wipers, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Skoda Kushaq Engine Specs

The Skoda Kushaq was first previewed as the Vision IN Concept at the 2020 Auto Expo. The SUV features’ the brand’s signature design, and will have more upright front with signature chrome-embellished skoda grille. It will come with split projector headlamps with LED DRLs, angular bumper, larger air intakes, plastic cladding all-around the body, usable roof rails, and L-shaped LED tail-lamps with horizontal reflectors form the typical C-shaped light cluster.

Inside the cabin, the SUV is expected to receive a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. The SUV will also receive connected car technology. Other features are likely to include digital instrument console, dual-zone climate control, multi-functional steering wheel, etc.
