The long-awaited Renault Kiger sub-4 meter SUV has finally been launched in the Indian market. Available in 4 trim levels- RXE, RXL, RXT and the top-spec RXZ, the new Kiger compact SUV is priced between Rs 5.45 lakh and Rs 9.55 lakh. This is Renault’s entry into the fastest growing sub-4 meter SUV segment, which is dominated by Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet and the Hyundai Venue.

Interested buyers can book the new Kiger online or via Renault dealership by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000. Deliveries for the new model will commence from March 2021. Dual-tone colors will be offered at an additional cost of Rs 17,000.
Renault Kiger Design and Interior
The Renault Kiger is built on the Renault-Nissan alliance’s CMF-A+ modular platform that also underpins the Triber and the Nissan Magnite. It is basically the modified and stronger version of the Kwid’s CMF-A platform. The SUV looks like a bigger version of the Kwid. In fact, it shares lot of resemblance with the Kiger Showcar. Design highlights include signature winged grille with two horizontal slats, split headlamp set-up with LED DRls on top and headlight placed lower down the bumper, and squared-off wheel arches, dual-tone bumper, split tail-lamps, sloping rear glass, roof-integrated spoiler and black plastic cladding. The new Renault Kiger rides on new 16-inch alloy wheels.
The Renault Kiger comes with all-new cabin; however, it shares some components with the Triber MPV. It has dual-tone interior scheme with a floating 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system dominating the central console. It will get android auto and apple carplay support. The SUV will get digital instrument console, automatic AC, dual glovebox, cruise control, around view monitor, air purifier and others. The Kiger is claimed to offer an impressive 405-litres of boot space, which is 69-litres higher than the Magnite’s boot space.
The Kiger comes equipped with all-new cabin design, some of the components are shared with the Triber MPV. The sub-4 meter SUV comes with a dual-tone interior scheme along with new dashboard and central console design. It gets a floating 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital instrument console, automatic AC, dual glovebox, cruise control, around view monitor, etc. The SUV is claimed to offer an impressive boot space of 405-litres. The SUV also gets air purifier. For music lovers, the Kiger gets 3D sound system by Arkamys with 8 speakers.
Renault Kiger Engine Specifications
The new Renault Kiger is available with 2 engine options – a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol with 5-speed MT and an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission), and a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol with 5MT and CVT automatic. While the former is good for 72bhp of power and 96Nm of torque, the turbocharged engine produces 99bhp and 160Nm of torque.
The Kiger Turbo manual is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 20kmpl.
The Renault Kiger is available in 6 color options – Ice Cool White, Planet Grey, Moonlight Grey, Mahogany Brown, Caspian Blue, Radiant Red with Mystery Black Roof. Customers can also avail dual-color options. The top-end variant gets Radiant Red under two-colour scheme. Dimensionally, the Renault Kiger 3,991mm long, 1,750mm wide and 1,600mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,500mm.
