RE Super Meteor 650 Spied In Production Form – Fresh Details Out

It is no secret that Royal Enfield is working on multiple new 650cc motorcycles including a cruiser, scrambler and a Classic. These motorcycles are scheduled to be launched in the next 1 year. Royal Enfield will first launch a cruiser, called the RE Super Meteor 650 that is likely to be revealed next month in EICMA or at Royal Enfield’s Rider Mania. The motorcycle has been spotted testing several times, and a new set of images of the production-ready model have hit the Internet.

The RE Super Meteor 650 is expected to be offered in multiple variants. Previous spy shots reveal that the 650cc motorcycle has blacked-out parts; however, the latest test mule has a lot of silver-finished alloy components and number of chrome touches across the bike. This could be the top-spec variant in the line-up. The motorcycle’s headlamp rim, headlight bracket, handlebar risers and hand levers are finished in a silver alloy. The spotted model has SG650 concept inspired horseshoe-type mount for the front mudguard.

The instrument console also has silver finish. The switches along with the non-adjustable hand levers and front brake master cylinder seems shared with the Meteor 350. Chrome treatment is offered on the round-shaped rear-view mirrors, the exhaust system and the throttle body covers. The new RE Super Meteor 650 features 100-section CEAT Zoom Cruz tyres at the front.

The spotted RE Super Meteor 650 also has the Tripper Navigation pod, which suggests that it will become the first 650cc RE to offer the unit as an optional accessory. The motorcycle will get an upside-down front fork and dual-channel ABS as standard. The mudguards and side panels are wrapped in black material, while the headlamp is likely to be an LED unit.

The new RE Super Meteor 650 will share the engine and platform with the Royal Enfield’s 650 twins. It will be powered by a 648cc, parallel twin-cylinder engine with fuel injection technology. This engine is capable of producing 47PS of power and 52Nm of torque. The engine will be paired to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper and assist clutch.
