The Range Rover Sport SVR’s replacement is finally here – the new-generation Range Rover Sport SV with more powerful and new engine, 23-inch carbon fiber wheels and multiple other upgrades. The high-performance SUV not only drops the last letter of its suffix, but gets a new twin-turbo 4.4L V8 engine with mild hybrid technology as well. The motor has been sourced from BMW. It delivers a massive 626 horsepower and 800 Newton metres of torque.
Compared to its previous supercharged 5.0L V8 engine, the new one is 59bhp more powerful and 100Nm of torqueier. One must note that the aforementioned torque figure comes in Dynamic Launch Mode. The twin-turbo unit returns 750Nm the rest of the time. The Dynamic mode also lowers the SUV by an additional 15mm, thus improving its throttle response, gearshifts and steering feedback.
The new 2024 Range Rover Sport SV is the most powerful and fastest Land Rover cars ever. It’s claimed to hit 60mph or 96kmph in just 3.6 seconds and offer a maximum speed of 290kmph. The performance figures are surely quite impressive considering its weight that stands at 2560kg.
What’s interesting here is buyers can opt for the world’s first 23-inch carbon fiber wheels that reduce its weight by 36kgs. Furthermore, there is an option for the carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes (first for Range Rover) reducing an extra 34kg. You can also choose the carbon fiber hood and make it light by 76kgs. The performance-focused 2024 Range Rover Sport SV comes with Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tyres – the 285/40 R23 at the front and the fatter 305//35 R23 at the rear.
Interior of the new Range Rover Sport SV promises a great music experience with the 29-speaker, 1430-watt Meridian sound system and the front seats with built-in transducers that make them vibrate with the music. The carmaker has termed it Body and Soul Seats (BASS) that also has 6 tracks – Soothe, Poise, Cool, Serene, Glow and Tonic.
Land Rover will sell its high-performance SUV as an Edition One during its first year of production. The SUV will be exclusively available for select clients to order by invitation.
