New GPS Toll Collection System
Under the new GPS toll collection system, the toll amount will auto deduct from the bank account of vehicle owners, based on the movement of the vehicles. The new system is quite beneficial for both vehicle owners and government. No one has to stand and wait in the toll collection queues on highways. It will also help reduce traffic congestion and save government’s fund that spent on toll booth maintenance. In fact, the new GPS toll collection system will increase the toll income a huge margin.
For Commercial Vehicles
Mr. Gadkari revealed the new commercial vehicles will have vehicle tracking systems that will help track the vehicle’s movement and charge the toll amount. The government is planning to install GPS technology in the old commercial vehicles.
