Nissan Magnite Waiting Period Goes Up to 6 Months

Nissan Magnite, the newly-launched subcompact SUV from the Japanese carmaker, has been receiving overwhelming response in the country. The carmaker revealed that it received over 5,000 bookings and 50,000 enquiries in just 5 days of its market arrival. Most of buyers are opting higher trims of the Magnite. The high demand has also increased its waiting period up to 6 months. Attributes such as several first-in-segment features, sporty looks and competitive pricing have been working in its favour.

The subcompact SUV has been offered in five main trims – XE, XL, XV, XV Premium and XV Premium (O). Its introductory prices start from Rs 4.99 lakh for the entry-level model and go up to Rs 9.45 lakh for the fully-loaded XV Premium (O) CVT variant. This makes it the most affordable SUV in its segment. The model lineup includes four variants with naturally aspirated petrol engine (all manual) and eight turbo-petrol models (4 MT and 4 CVT).

The 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that been tuned for generating power worth 72bhp. The 1.0-liter, three-cylinder, turbo-petrol unit (HRA0, on the other hand, makes a top power of 100bhp and 160Nm of torque. Both engines can be had with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The turbo-petrol models are exclusively offered with the optional CVT automatic gearbox. One must note that the engine’s torque drops by 8Nm with CVT unit. As mentioned above, the Nissan Magnite offers several class-leading features such as a 360-degree around view camera, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 7.0-inch TFT display for instrument cluster, push-button start, voice recognition technology, cruise control and tyre pressure-monitor. The company is also offering an optional Technology Package at an additional cost of Rs 39,000. It includes such as air purifier, wireless charging, ambient mood lighting, JBL speakers and puddle lamps.
