Nissan Magnite Launch Around November-December, 2020 – Report

It was speculated that the Nissan Magnite compact SUV will be launched in January, 2020. A new media report claims that the sub-4 meter SUV will go on sale by the end of this year, most probably around November-December.

The Nissan Magnite compact SUV is designed and developed on the heavily localised CMF-A+ modular platform that also underpins the Renault Triber. The company has already revealed the pre-production version of the SUV. The patent images of the Magnite have also been leaked online.

Nissan Magnite Exterior

Set to be brand’s smallest SUV, the Nissan Magnite is rumoured to be priced as low as Rs 5.25 lakh. The SUV was earlier planned to be launched under the Datsun nameplate; however, Nissan has decided to slowly phasing out the Datsun brand owing to its low-demand. The Nissan Magnite compact SUV has striking exterior design and feature-loaded interior.

Styling elements include octagonal front grille with chrome strips, L-shaped daytime running lamps, pushed-back type headlamps, sculpted bonnet, dual-tone lower bumper, sloping roofline, pronounced wheel arches, wrap-around tail-lamps with LED elements, dual-tone bumper with faux skid plate, etc. The Nissan Magnite will be equipped with some high-end features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 360 degree camera, factory-fitted sunroof, cruise control and Nissan Connect connected car technologies (Remote engine start/stop system, Geo fencing and others).

Nissan Magnite Interior

The Nissan Magnite will be powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine in naturally-aspirated and turbocharged version. The naturally-aspirated version offers 72bhp and 91Nm of torque, the turbocharged unit is likely to offer around 99bhp and 160Nm of torque. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic. The compact SUV will directly rival the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300 and the upcoming Renault HBC.
