Launched on 2nd December 2020, Nissan Magnite has been an instant hit for the Japanese carmaker. The subcompact SUV has gathered over 30,000 bookings since its arrival, which is around 1,000 bookings per day. According to a fresh media report, the maximum orders came in the last 14 days and over 2,000 customers are waiting for the deliveries. The report further states that several Nissan dealers have stopped taking new bookings and the Magnite could be sold out for 2021. As per dealers’ estimations the Magnite received over 5,000 new bookings on 31st December (a day prior to the price hike). It could be the most booking passenger car of the last year. Attributes such as sporty design, segment-first features, efficient engines and of-course the aggressive pricing have been working in its favour.
The Nissan Magnite has been rolled out at an introductory price of Rs 4.99 lakh, thus making it the most affordable subcompact SUV in the country. The model lineup is spread across five trims – XE, XL, XV, XV Premium and XV Premium (O) and its top-end variant costs Rs 9.45 lakh. It comes with two petrol engine options – 1.0L naturally aspirated (72bhp) and 1.0L turbo (100bhp/160Nm).
A 5-speed manual gearbox is standard across the model lineup. The turbo-petrol is exclusively offered with a CVT automatic gearbox, but it drops the engine’s torque by 8Nm. There are four CVT variants – turbo XL, turbo XV, turbo XV Premium and turbo XV Premium (O) – priced at Rs 7.89 lakh, Rs 8.58 lakh, Rs 9.35 lakh and Rs 9.45 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom.
The company is offering an optional Technology Pack with the XV, XV Premium and XV Premium (O) trims. The package costs an extra Rs 39,000 and it includes an air purifier, wireless charging, JBL speakers, ambient mood lighting and puddle lamps along with the already available features.
