Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese automaker, has introduced the Rumion, a compact MPV based on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. This marks the fourth instance of Toyota rebadging a Maruti Suzuki vehicle in the country. The company emphasizes that the all-new Toyota Rumion will offer “unmatched space, excellent fuel efficiency in a stylish and premium new family car.”

Pricing details and booking information for the MPV will be revealed in due course. With the introduction of the Rumion, Toyota aims to tap into the entry-level MPV segment, complementing its existing lineup featuring the Innova Crysta, Hycross, and Vellfire in the premium space.

Cosmetic differentiations set the Rumion apart from the Maruti Ertiga. Notably, it showcases an Innova Crysta-inspired front grille, an updated front bumper with chrome accents, and slightly revised fog lamp surrounds. Aside from the newly designed dual-tone machined alloy wheels, the side profile closely resembles that of the Ertiga. The rear of the MPV features LED taillamps accompanied by back door chrome garnish.

Inside the cabin, the new Toyota MPV offers a dual-tone interior, with a blacked-out dashboard complemented by wood-like inserts. Many features are shared with the Maruti Ertiga. The Rumion is equipped with a SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as Toyota I-connect boasting over 55 features.
