The Japanese automaker has introduced the new Toyota Fortuner Leader variants in Thai market. The models come in three variants – Leader G, Leader V2WD and Leader V 2WD – priced at 1,371,000 baht (Rs 29.85 lakh), 1,490,000 bhat (Rs 32.42 lakh) and 1,560,000 bhat (Rs 33.94 lakh) respectively.
A few noticeable changes have been made to its exterior and interior. Though, it continues to use the same 2.4L turbo diesel engine that’s good for 150PS and 400Nm. It can be had with a 6-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifter and sequential shift. The SUV offers three driving modes – Eco, Normal and Sports.
Talking about design changes, the new Toyota Fortuner Leader has a newly-designed front grille and bumper that look exactly similar to the Fortuner Legender. Features such as blacked-out side steps, newly-designed 18-inch rims, Leader emblem and LED rear taillamps add more to its looks. The SUV has a leather-wrapped interior with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, dual zone AC with PM 2.5 filter and a new Optitron cluster. The list of features also includes a 4.2-inch TFT MID, leatherette seats, 4-way adjustable steering wheel, 12V charging sockets, auto dimming rear view mirror, 6-way electrically adjustable front seats and more.
On the safety front, the Fortuner Leader offers blind spot monitor, 7 airbags, hill start assist, vehicle stability control, reverse camera, traction control system, reverse camera, front and rear sensors, rear cross traffic alert, burglar alarm system, immobilizer and 6-position parking sensor alarm.
The Toyota Fortuner Leader has been offered in 6 exterior colour options, namely, Silver Metallic, Emotional Red, Dark Grey Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Blue Dark Mica and Black Attitude Mica.
Toyota’s India Plan
Here, the company will bring in the new-generation Toyota Fortuner sometime next year. It has also lined up the all-new Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, updated Urban Cruiser subcompact SUV and Toyota Innova HyCross.
