2023 Toyota Fortuner To Get High-Tech Features, Hybrid Setup

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has planned several new models for the Indian market. The company is ready to introduced its first mid-size SUV – Urban Cruiser Hyryder – on 16th August 2022. During this year’s Diwali season, it will bring in the new Innova HyCross with the strong hybrid powertrain. It will also give a generation change to its top-selling Fortuner SUV towards the end of 2022. It’s market launch, however, is expected to happen sometime next year. The all-new 2023 Toyota Fortuner will witness significant updates in terms of features and engine mechanism.

One of the biggest updates will come in the form of the 1GD-FTV 2.8L diesel engine boosted with the mild hybrid technology and an integrated starter generator (ISG). Reports suggest that the diesel hybrid powertrain could be named ‘GD Hybrid’. It will be high on fuel efficiency than the regular oil burner. The power and torque figures might also be higher than the existing motor.

all-new Toyota Fortuner Launch

The new Toyota Fortuner 2023 is reported to switch to the brand’s TNGA-F architecture. The automaker might equip the SUV with the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite that includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, automatic parking assist, forward collision warning and lane departure warning. It will also get the vehicle stability control (VSC) and electric power steering replacing the existing hydraulic unit.

Noticeable cosmetic changes will also be made to the 2023 Toyota Fortuner SUV. Though, details are yet to be revealed.

In the MPV segment, the Japanese carmaker will introduce two new models including the re-badged version of the Maruti Ertiga and a new C-segment model. The company has already trademarked the Toyota Rumion nameplate in India that will be rebadged 7-seater Ertiga. Save for a few cosmetic changes, it will be exactly similar to Maruti Suzuki’s MPV. The new Toyota C-segment MPV will be co-developed with Suzuki and its likely to come with the ADAS system.
