New Tata Safari – Variants, Colours, Features Leaked

Tata Safari nameplate will soon make a comeback in India in the form of production-ready Gravitas SUV. The model is scheduled to be unveiling on 26th January. Ahead of its official debut, the variant, colours and feature details of the SUV have been surfaced on the web. As per the leaked information, the new Tata Safari will come in four variants – XE, XM, XT and XZ. It will be offered with 2 seating configurations – 6-seater with captain seats for the middle row occupants and 7-seater with bench type seat.

Buyers will have three colour schemes to choose from – Daytona Grey, Orcus White and Royale Blue. Tata will equip the new Safari with a panoramic sunroof that will be exclusively offered on the higher XT and XZ trims. To be positioned above the Harrier, the new Tata SUV is expected to come with extra features including wireless charging, connectivity features, 360 degree camera and more.

The fresh spy pictures reveal that the 2021 Tata Safari will have JBL audio system, premium Benecke-Kaliko oak brown leather seat upholstery, a large floating infotainment system with smarphone connectivity, a7-inch instrument panel, auto dimming IRVMs, cruise control and adjustable driver’s seat. For power, the new Tata Safari will use the Harrier’s 2.0L FCA-sourced diesel engine that will be available with both manual and automatic gearbox options. The oil burner pushes out a peak power of 170bhp and a maximum torque of 350Nm. The SUV will initially come with FWD system only. The carmaker might bring in its 4X4 version at a later stage. Rumour has it that the 2021 Tata Safari could be the brand’s first car to feature a 1.5L turbo petrol engine, which is currently in testing phase.
