New Nexon Could Be the 1st Tata Car To Get Paddle Shifters

Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the updated Nexon in August 2023. The subcompact SUV will receive comprehensive changes inside and out along with a more powerful petrol engine. We have seen multiple spy images and videos of the new 2023 Tata Nexon facelift till date. The latest set of spy image reveals some interesting interior details of the updated model. There will be a new two-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel with an illuminated logo in the centre. The same unit we have seen in the Tata Curvv concept that broke cover at the 2023 Auto Expo. The new Nexon could be the first Tata car to come with the paddle shifters. The unit allows to upshift or downshift the transmission as you drive the car. The instrument cluster will also be revised. The biggest update inside the cabin will be a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Features such as ventilated seats, a built-in air purifier, a 360 degree camera and a sunroof.

2023 Tata Nexon paddle shifters

As mentioned above, the new 2023 Tata Nexon facelift will come with a new 1.2L turbo petrol engine that will be more powerful than the existing one. The motor pushes out a peak power of 125bhp and 225Nm of torque. The existing 1.5L diesel engine will also be carried forward front the current model. The subcompact SUV can be had with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed DCT automatic gearbox.

Besides the updated Nexon, the carmaker will introduce the CNG version of the Tata Punch in the next couple of months. Similar to the Altroz CNG, the micro SUV will come with 1.2L Revotron petrol engine with dual-cylinder CNG setup. It delivers a peak power of 76bhp and 97Nm of torque. The Tata Punch CNG will be available with a 5-speed manual gearbox only.
