Japanese automaker, Mitsubishi has presented an all-new XFC SUV concept that is scheduled to make public debut at the Vietnam Motor Show 2022. Set to rival the Hyundai Creta, the production-spec Mitsubishi XFC SUV will first launch in Vietnamese market. The compact SUV will also go on sale in other ASEAN markets where Creta and Seltos are gaining customers attention.
The company claims that the new Mitsubishi XFC is based on the brand’s design philosophy of Robust & Ingenious. The front fascia is designed on signature Dynamic Shield concept, which we have already seen on many new-gen Mitsubishis. The concept has a closed front grille finished in grey colour scheme.
The SUV is likely to get split headlamp setup with L-shaped headlamp unit on lower bumper and louver-like daytime running lights positioned on the top. The SUV gets sculpted front and rear fender flares and strong character lines on side profile. Like the front, the rear also features T-shaped tail-lights.
Inside the cabin, the Mitsubishi XFC concept has multi-layered dashboard with a single screen for instrument panel and infotainment system. Also on offer is a unique orange and white scheme for the interior; however, the production model will have more basic interior scheme. Mitsubishi claims that the XFC concept is designed for “ease of operation, providing good forward visibility, easy perception of the vehicle’s dimensions, and smooth handling.
The instrument panel features a large display panel integrating a full digital driver display and a center display that can show three separate information such as navigation, road surface conditions, and other information necessary for driving on one screen. Mitsubishi claims that “the XFC concept is also designed for utility with ample car space.”
The new XFC SUV will come with four drive modes – Normal, Wet, Gravel and Mud. The Wet mode, introduced for the first time in a Mitsubishi vehicle, is designed with use in ASEAN countries in mind.
