New Mercedes-Benz GLE, AMG C 43 Price In India – Key Details

Mercedes-Benz India has introduced the updated GLE SUV and performance-oriented C 43 4MATIC sedan in the country. The new Mercedes GLE has been offered in three variants – 450 4MATIC, 300d 4MATIC and 450d 4MATIC – priced at Rs 1.10 crore, Rs 96.4 lakh and Rs 1.15 crore, respectively. As their nomenclature suggests, all three variants have Mercedes’ 4MATC all-wheel drive system along with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. While the GLE 300d uses a 2.0L, 4-cylinder diesel engine (269bhp/550Nm), the GEL 450d has a 2.0L, 6-cylinder diesel motor (367bhp/750Nm). Both models can do 0 to 100kmph in 6.9 seconds and 5.6 seconds, respectively.

The GLE 450 is a petrol powered variant offering power worth 381bhp and 500Nm of torque. It accelerates 0 to 100kmph in 5.6 seconds. Its important to note that all three variants of the new Mercedes GLE are benefited with the mild hybrid 48V ISG (integrated starter-generator) that gives a power and torque boost of 20bhp and 200Nm. The new Mercedes GLE receives some noticeable changes inside and out.

Mercedes AMG C 43

The Mercedes-AMG C 43 has been made available at Rs 98 lakh (ex-showroom). Under the hood, the performance sedan features a new 2.0L, 4-cylinder engine with an electric turbocharger replacing the old 3.0L turbo V6 motor. Its new engine generates a maximum power of 408bhp, thus making it more powerful than its replacement. With the 48V mild hybrid system, you get an additional power boost of 14bhp. The performance sedan comes with a 9-speed automatic gearbox with Mercedes-AMG’s 4MATIC drive system along with ‘Race Start’ functionality. It’s capable to achieve 100kmph from standstill in 4.6 seconds.

The company says that the Mercedes-AMG C 43 has heavily modified chassis and updated front axle. It gets AMG Ride control suspension with double wishbones and adaptive dampers and multi-links at the front and rear axles, respectively. For performing braking duties, it has new 370mm steel discs with four piston calipers up front and 320mm steel discs with single-piston floating calipers at the rear.
