New Mahindra Scorpio-N To Share Features, Engines With XUV700

The all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N is all set to hit showrooms on 27th June 2022. The company has confirmed that its production will begin in coming weeks at its Chakan facility in Pune. Select Mahindra dealers have already started accepting bookings for the new model. The SUV takes a big leap in terms of design as we have seen in the recently released official images.

While its interior details are yet to be revealed by the carmaker, the new Scorpio N is likely to witness significant changes and feature upgrades. Most of its features could be borrowed from the Mahindra XUV700 including the Sony’s touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity. While the entry-level variants will have an 8-inch display, the higher trims will get larger unit.

Rumour has it that the new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N could be offered with the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite similar to the XUV700. It will have dual-tone interior theme and a flat-bottom steering wheel with mounted controls. The new Scorpio N will also come with an analogue instrument cluster, a sunroof, push button start/stop, a 360 degree camera, an 8-speaker 3D Sony audio system and electrically adjustable front seats.

The SUV’s new model will be high on safety with features such as 6/8 airbags, rear disc brakes, tyre pressure monitoring system, electric stability control and several new fitments. For the very first time, the Mahindra Scorpio will be offered with the front facing third row seats.

Under the hood, the new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N will feature the 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L diesel engine. While the gasoline unit will make 170PS, the oil burner will deliver 130PS in the lower variants and 160PS on the higher variants. Compared to the XUV700, the new Scorpio N petrol will be slightly less powerful. Both motors will be available with the optional AWD system. Buyers will have a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox to choose from.
