New Mahindra Bolero Coming In The End Of 2021

Mahindra is gearing up for the launch of the much-awaited new generation XUV500 and the Scorpio SUVs in the country. According to AutoCarIndia, Mahindra will also introduce the Bolero Neo before the end of this year. This will be the biggest change Bolero will receive in years.

The Mahindra Bolero Neo is reportedly to be based on a new-age ladder-frame chassis, which is likely to be the same that underpins the new Thar. This platform will also underpin the new Scorpio SUV. The report further claims that the new Thar will retain the boxy and upright design; however, it will look more modern and will have a better equipped interior.

2020 Mahindra Bolero BS6 Specs

The Mahindra Bolero is hugely popular in semi-urban and rural regios, thanks to its rugged profile. The SUV looks tough and offers seat for multiple people. Mahindra will retain all these attributes; however, it is likely to get modern design elements such as new LED headlamps, LED DRLs in top-end variant, skid plate, ORVMs with turn indicators and new front grille inspired by the next-gen Scorpio and the XUV500.

The Mahindra Bolero Neo is likely to be offered with multiple seating options. It will also receive all-new interior with modern day features, which are missing in the current model. The SUV is expected to get new audio system, Bluetooth telephony, air-conditioning and others as standard. In fact, the top-end variant could receive a touchscreen infotainment system.

The SUV will be compliant with new safety and crash tets norms, as it is based on new Thar that secured 4 star crash test rating in GNCAP. Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, driver and co-driver seat belt reminders, speed alert system, vehicle reverse parking sensors and manual override for the central locking system will come as standard.

It is likely to be powered by a new 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine, which also powers the new Thar. While powering the Thar, this engine produces 130bhp and 300Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearbox options are likely to be on offer. Aiming to enhance comfort and drivability of the SUV, the carmaker will also update its suspension system.
