“There will be no change in our hybrid vehicle plan. Two years ago we shared the electrification strategy and we are going to start the production and sales of hybrid vehicle next year. Internally, to launch a new model we have to plan almost 5 years ahead and we have almost spent 3-4 years. At the moment we don’t have any plans to postpone the project,” said Gaku Nakanishi.

The company hasn’t revealed anything about the new hybrid car. It is expected that the company could introduce a hybrid version of the City or the next-generation Jazz. Previous reports claim that Honda is still considering the HR-V SUV for India. The next-gen model is scheduled to make global debut in early 2021. It could be positioned between the WR-V and the CR-V. The reports also claim that the next-gen HR-V will also receive the new hybrid powertrain option, which we have already seen on the new Jazz.
