What’s more interesting about the new Honda SUV is that could have the longest wheelbase in its segment. Though, its official dimension figures are yet to be revealed. The model is reported to sit on a 2,700mm longer wheelbase that translates into more cabin space. Its arch rivals – Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara – have a wheelbase of 2,610mm and 2,600mm respectively. The overall length of Honda’s compact SUV will be around 4.3 metres.

The biggest talking point of the new Honda compact SUV will be its hybrid powertrain that’s likely to be borrowed from the City sedan. It could come with the 1.5L Atkinson cycle with e:HEV hybrid tech, delivering power worth 109bhp and 253Nm of torque. There will also be a 1.5L iVTEC petrol engine that’s good enough for 121bhp and 145Nm. The strong hybrid powertrain, however, could be reserved for the higher trims.
