The long-awaited new-gen Skoda Fabia will make its global debut tomorrow. The company has already released the design and interior sketches of the hatchback. Most of the details about the new Fabia has also been released. The fourth generation Skoda Fabia will be bigger, bolder and more aggressive than its previous model.
The new-gen Skoda Fabia will be based on the Volkswagen Group’s Modular Transverse Toollit MQB-AO platform, which also underpins the Kamiq crossover. The new model will grow in size, which should allow Skoda to offer more space for passengers and luggage. It will be 111mm longer and 48mm wider than its predecessor, and the boot space has been increased by 50-litres.
The new-gen Skoda Fabia will measure 4,107mm in length, 1,780mm in width and 1,460mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,564mm. It will have a boot space of 380-litres, which can be further extended to 1,190-litres by folding the second-row of seats.
The new Fabia will come with full LED lighting system, featuring sharp-looking full LED headlamps with integrated L-shaped LED DRLs and LED tail-lamps with Skoda’s familiar crystalline elements. The hatchback will get the large signature butterfly grille with chrome outline.
The cabin of the new-gen Skoda Fabia will have simple and clutter-free layout. It will get a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, which is sourced from the Kamiq crossover. The hatchback will also get the customisable virtual cockpit, multi-functional steering wheel, coloured highlights on dash, central console and door panels, automatic AC, etc.
It will feature a 1.0L 3-cylinder NA petrol engine that offers two states of tune – 64bhp/95Nm and 70bhp/95Nm. The turbocharged 1.0L engine is also tuned in two different states – 94bhp/175Nm and 108bhp/200Nm.
