New-Gen Renault Duster India Launch Officially Confirmed

Renault has officially confirmed the arrival of the new-generation Duster in the Indian market. Although the launch timeline is yet to be disclosed, indications suggest a potential launch in 2025, with the India debut is likely towards the end of 2024. This time around, Renault enthusiasts can anticipate not only the regular 5-seater Duster but also a bonus 7-seater version. The Duster 5-seater variant is poised to face stiff competition from contenders such as the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Honda Elevate. On the other hand, the 7-seater version will enter the arena against the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, and MG Hector Plus.

Just a week ago, Renault’s sister brand, Dacia, unveiled the new Duster in Portugal. The European launch will precede its introduction in other markets. Drawing inspiration from the Dacia Bigster concept, the new Duster showcases a rugged and more aggressive stance. With a length of 4.34 meters, it surpasses its predecessor, featuring slim Y-shaped LED DRLs seamlessly connected to the chrome elements on the slim grille, a standout feature on its front end. The bumper hosts vertical air vents flanking the circular fog lamp assembly.

Examining its side profile, the Duster inherits large squared-off wheel arches, roof rails, and a spoiler from the Bigster, while the tapering rear quarter glass remains consistent with its predecessor. The SUV also debuts newly-designed 18-inch blacked-out alloy wheels, a blacked-out vertical ‘shadow line’ below the mirrors, and fresh cladding below the rear doors. At the rear, Y-shaped taillamps add a distinctive touch, and the SUV offers a generous boot space of up to 472-liters.

Inside, the new Renault Duster impresses with a dual-screen setup featuring a 10.1-inch touchscreen for infotainment and a 7-inch display for driver information. The three-spoke steering wheel comes equipped with mounted controls, and a 12V power socket and USB ports are conveniently placed below the center AC vents. Higher trims will enjoy additional features such as ADAS tech, an Arkamys 3D sound system with six speakers, wireless charging, wireless smartphone connectivity, and automatic climate control.

Globally, the new Renault Duster will be available with three engine options, including a 1.6L, 4-cylinder petrol hybrid with two electric motors and a 1.2kWh battery, a 130bhp, 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol with a 48V starter motor, and a 1.0L petrol-LPG (in select markets only). The SUV will offer both 4X2 and 4X4 drivetrain options.
