Japanese automaker, Honda is preparing the next-gen CR-V SUV for the global markets. The SUV is most likely to make global debut in the next few months, most probably in first quarter of 2022. The next-gen Honda CR-V will first go on sale in the United States, where the existing model is one of the best sellers.
The next-gen Honda CR-V will receive all-new design, which is also evident from the spy shots available on the internet. A new rendering reveals the possible design of the upcoming CR-V. The report claims that the rendering is based on the spy shots, and gives the closest idea of the design.
The new-gen Honda CR-V appears longer than the current model, which should liberate more space inside the cabin. The design of the SUV is inspired by the latest generation Honda HR-V, which is on sale in select international markets. The front looks squarer and less angular. There is a chrome strip that runs through the trapezoidal grille connects the thinner headlamps. The fog lamp design is also similar to the new HR-V.
The rendering shows the front look of the SUV; however, the rear profile is also expected to be inspired by the smaller sibling. The SUV is likely to have a simpler rear design with all-new tail-lights and simple tailgate design. The rear design looks a little bigger than the current generation, which suggest that the SUV will have bigger interior. It is expected that the new model will also come with an option with 7 seats.
Interior details are yet to be released. It is expected that the new model will follow the brand’s latest interior design language, with a tablet-type entertainment system with a touch-sensitive screen. The SUV will have more refined and premium interior.
The next-gen Honda CR-V is expected to be offered with hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. It will also receive a pure electric version for select markets. It is also likely to feature a 1.5-litre turbocharged VTEC engine with CVT gearbox.
