Japanese automaker, Honda had introduced the new generation Jazz hatchback in the home market in October 2019. The new model made its public debut at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. Interestingly, the new Jazz for the Asian markets will come with different design. The upcoming new City hatchback could be called the new Jazz for the Asian markets including Thailand and Indonesia.
The patent images of the new Honda City hatchback have already been leaked. Except for the rear profile, the new model looks exactly similar to the newly launched City sedan. The upcoming new Jazz is expected to be launched in Thailand by the end of this year.
The new Honda City hatchback will be powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of producing 122bhp of power and 173Nm of torque. This engine will be paired to a CVT automatic gearbox. The new model will sit above 4 meters in length and is likely to measure around 4.2 meters.
The new model will come as a replacement for the Honda Jazz hatchback in select markets. It will look completely similar to the sedan until the B-pillar and the biggest upgrade is made at the rear. This model will receive bigger greenhouse area, rear door, sleeker tail-lamps and sportier rear bumper.
The new Jazz hatchback will be similar to that of the sedan sibling. It will have a new, larger touchscreen infotainment system, which will be compatible with the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Most of the features will be sourced from the new Thailand-spec City sedan.
