New Citroen C3 Aircross Fresh Spy Images; Kia Carens Rival

It is no secret that Citroen is preparing a new utility vehicle for the developing nations including India and Brazil. The new model has been spotted testing multiple times in India and on foreign soil. It will be offered with 5 and 7-seat options and will rival the likes of the Kia Carens and the Suzuki XL6. Rumoured to be called the new Citroen C3 Aircross, the UV will be launched in our market before the end this year.

The new Citroen C3 Aircross has now been spotted testing in Brasil. The fresh spy images gives a general idea of how it will be in terms of size and design elements. The new crossover will be based on the CMP or Common Modular Platform, which underpins the C3 hatchback. The platform will be modified to accommodate a bigger 3-row model. While the C3 hatch measures 3.98 meters in length, the new C3 Aircross is expected to measure around 4.3-4.4 meters in length.

Visually, the new Citroen C3 Aircross looks like a bigger C3 hatchback. The vehicle looks similar to the standard C3 till the B-pillar, as it has bigger rear doors and glass area. It comes with new bumpers, new C and D coloums, higher ground clearance, plastic body cladding and bigger wheels (15 or 16-inch).

The interior will be shared with the C3 hatchback; however, it will offer more features compared to the hatchback sibling. Previous spy images reveal that the new model will share the dashboard layout, steering wheel and instrument console with the C3. It is likely to come with flexible seating options, as the 2nd and 3rd row seats could be folded down to create more luggage space.

New Citroen C3 Aircross wheels

It is likely to be powered by the 1.2L turbo petrol engine that produces 110bhp and 190Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearbox options could be on offer. The lower-spec variants could feature the 1.0L 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine with manual gearbox. This variant is likely to be positioned against the Renault Triber.
