BMW India has launched the new BMW M4 Competition Coupe at Rs 1.44 Crore (ex-showroom). Launched as a completely built-up unit (CBU), the new M4 Competition Coupe high-performance sports car is available at shop.bmw.in. The new model is offered with a straight-six petrol engine with all-wheel drive system.
The all-new BMW M4 Competition is offered in metallic colours – Skyscraper grey, Portimao Blue, Black Sapphire, Sao Paulo Yellow, Toronto Red and Alpione White in non-metallic. Optional BMW Individual metallic paint finishes available are – Tanzanite Blue, Dravitgrey, Aventurine Red, Frozen Brilliant White, Frozen Portimao Blue.
The new BMW M4 Competition Coupe is powered by a new 3.0-litre Straight-Six engine that churns out a maximum power output of 510bhp and a maximum torque of 650Nm at 2,750-5,500rpm. The new high performance sports car is claimed to achieve 0 to 100kmph acceleration in just 3.5 seconds before an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph. The engine comes mated to a ZF-sourced 8-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
The driver can access three distinct setups with automatic gearbox – comfort oriented, sports focused or track optimized. The Setup button on the centre console provides direct access to the settings options for the engine, chassis, steering and braking system, plus traction control. EFFICIENT, SPORT and SPORT PLUS settings can be engaged to modify the engine’s characteristics, while selecting the COMFORT, SPORT or SPORT PLUS chassis mode provides access to the three settings for the electronically controlled dampers.
In terms of styling, the new BMW M4 Competition gets a large vertical grulle with seven double-horizontal louvres, a pair of adaptive LED headlamps with laser lights, new front bumper with gaping air intakes, sloping coupe roofline, air ducts on the front fenders and newly styled 19- or 20-inch forged alloy wheels. At the back, the Coupe has a boot-mounted spoiler, new rear bumper with a multi-channel diffuser and new round tailpipes in black chrome. The new M4 is 108mm longer, 18mm wider and 1mm taller. The M4 Competition Coupe rides on 2,857mm wheelbase, which is 45mm longer than the previous model.
The cabin looks largely identical to the regular 4 Series. However, BMW has added some M specific touches with carbon fibre trims. The M4 Competition Coupe gets M Sport seats, an M Sport steering wheel, & a digital instrument console & and a new infotainment system with M-specific graphics & functions.
In terms of features, the new BMW M4 Competition Coupe gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument console, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, 3-zone climate control, 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, heads-up display, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function & lumbar support, wireless charging, etc. The M4 Competition gets 6 airbags, ABS, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), etc.
