Hyundai Motor India is gearing up to illuminate the upcoming 2023 festive season with the introduction of the refreshed i20 hatchback. Although the official launch date is yet to be revealed, several spy images and teaser videos have provided insights into some of the key design changes. The model is confirmed to arrive in showrooms in the coming weeks, with select Hyundai dealers already accepting pre-bookings for the new 2023 Hyundai i20 facelift. The booking amount is reported to vary between Rs 5,000 and Rs 21,000.
Design Updates: The majority of design enhancements can be found at the front end of the i20 facelift. It will showcase a fresh cascading grille, a revised bumper, and LED daytime running lights (DRLs). From the sides, the hatchback will maintain a similar overall appearance, although it may receive a new set of alloy wheels. The redesigned taillamps featuring Z-shaped LED inserts will give a rejuvenated look to the rear profile. Additionally, expect new exterior color options to be offered.
Interior Upgrades: Inside the cabin, the 2023 Hyundai i20 facelift is set to receive subtle upgrades, including new upholstery. It is anticipated to feature advanced technologies such as a dual-camera dashcam, a new digital driver’s display, ambient lighting, and ventilated front seats. Safety features, including electronic stability control, six airbags, and a 360-degree camera, may be part of the standard equipment. The major upgrade is expected to come in the form of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) technology, similar to the recently introduced Hyundai Venue with the ADAS suite.
Engine Lineup: The engine lineup for the new Hyundai i20 facelift will remain unchanged. This means that the hatchback model range will include the 1.2L petrol and 1.0L turbo petrol engines, producing 83PS with 114Nm and 120PS with 172Nm, respectively. The 1.2L petrol unit will be available with the 5-speed manual and CVT automatic gearbox options, while the 1.0L petrol motor will be paired with a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission.
