New 2023 Honda City Bookings Open at Dealership Level

Select Honda dealers have started accepting bookings for the upcoming City facelift in Mumbai. The mid-size sedan will come slightly improved design and updated interior along with the RDE and E20 fuel compliant powertrains. Its market launch will take place in coming weeks (possibly on 2nd March 2023). The new 2023 Honda City facelift model lineup will receive new entry-level variants featuring petrol-hybrid powertrain.

This time around, there will be no diesel engine option. Honda has discontinued its diesel engine due to the upcoming RDE (Real Driving Emissions) norms. The sedan will be made available with the 121bhp. 15L petrol and 126bhp, Atkinson Cycle 1.5L petrol hybrid powertrains. While the former will be available with the 6-speed manual and CVT automatic gearbox options, the latter will get the same an e-CVT transmission.

On the exterior, the new 2023 Honda City facelift will feature slightly tweaked front and rear bumpers and newly-designed alloy wheels. The carmaker might introduce new colour schemes. At present, the sedan comes in 5 colour options – Lunar Silver Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Meteoroid Grey Metallic and Golden Brown Metallic.

With minor updates, the new City is expected to cost around Rs 1 to Rs 1.5 lakh premium over the current model. The latter one comes within the price range of Rs 11.87 lakh – Rs 15.52 lakh (ex-showroom).

In other updates, the Japanese automaker confirmed unveiling of its upcoming new mid-size SUV that will take on the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder. Rumour has it that the new Honda SUV could be named Honda Elevate. Based on the Amaze’s modified platform, the model might come with the 1.5L i-VTEC petrol and 1.5L Atkinson cycle hybrid powertrain options. On the feature front, there could be Honda Sensing Tech (ADAS) along with a 360 degree camera, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability management, 6 airbags, electronic stability control and more.
