Mahindra & Mahindra has released a new teaser video for its upcoming SUV that’s internally codenamed – Z101. The automaker says the upcoming SUV will be positioned as the #BigDaddyOfSUVs and it “will redefine industry benchmarks”. It’s the new-generation Mahindra Scorpio, which has been on test for a very long time. With the first teaser, the company has kick started promotional activities of the all-new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio. The video has a voice of Amitabh Bachchan.
The new Scorpio has been designed by the Mahindra India Design Studio (M.I.D.S) in Mumbai and engineered at the state-of-the-art facilities of Mahindra Research Valley (M.R.V) near Chennai. While official details of the SUV’s new-generation model will be revealed very soon, it’s likely to witness comprehensive changes inside and out. In fact, the Scorpio will grow in size and come with a set of more powerful engines.
New Mahindra Scorpio 2022 Teaser Video
Reports suggest that the new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will be offered with two engines – a 2.0L mStallion turbo petrol and a 2.2L mHawk diesel. The oil burner might come with two states of tunes – 130bhp with 300Nm (on the lower variants) and 155bhp with 350Nm (on the higher variants). There will be two gearboxes on offer – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The higher trims will be exclusively offered with the terrain modes, drive modes and 4X4 drivetrain system with a low range transfer case. As mentioned above, major changes will be made to its interior. The fresh spy images reveal that the SUV will have forward facing seats in the third row instead of the jump seats. One can access the third row seats by tumbling down the second row seats via a lever. The new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will have better safety quotient with features such as 6 airbags, reverse camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, cruise control and rear disc brake.
Mahindra will equip the new Scorpio with lots of advanced goodies including a 360 degree camera, vehicle telematics, a digital analogue instrument, a large touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity, HUD (Head-Up Display) unit, sunroof, rear AC vents, wireless charging, height adjustable driver seat and drive mode selector, roof mounted speakers, start/stop button and many more.
