2021 Jeep Compass facelift has finally been launched in the Indian market. The carmaker has made a few noticeable changes to its exterior and interior, while the engine setup remains intact. The SUV continues to use the 173bhp, 2.0L diesel and 163bhp, 1.4L turbo petrol engines. Transmissions have also been carried forward from the old model – i.e. 6-speed manual (standard), 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (petrol only) and 9-speed torque converter automatic (diesel only).
The SUV comes with 4X4 drive system with surface-specific drive modes. The updated model lineup comes in Sport, Longitude, Limited (O) and S (new*) trims along with a special 80th Anniversary Edition. One must note that the special edition will be available for a limited duration. Here’re key differences between the new Compass and its previous model.
- Prices of the new Jeep Compass 2021 start from Rs 16.99 lakh for the entry-level Sport petrol manual variant and go all the way up to Rs 28.29 lakh for the top-end Model S. Compared to the old model, the updated one is up to Rs 1.6 lakh more expensive.
- Minimal changes have been made to its exterior. The facelifted Compass features a new signature 7-slat front grille, newly-designed, slimmer headlamps with LED DRLs, slightly revised front bumper with a larger air dam, new fog lamp assembly and a new set of alloy wheels.
- The biggest update comes in the form of a new floating 10.1-inch touchscreen with FCA’s UConnect5 infotainment system. The unit supports Amazon Alexa and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also receives OTA (Over-the-Air) updates.
- The SUV comes with a full, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 360 degree camera, a new –spoke steering wheel, ventilated seats, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 8-way adjustable electric seats, powered tailgate and wireless charging.
- The new 2021 Jeep Compass 80th Anniversary Edition has painted front and rear fascia along with automatic LED reflector headlamps, gloss black front grille, sill moulding and fender flares, black dual-tone roof, black mirrors, rain sensing wipers, 18-inch granite crystal alloy wheels, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
- Inside, the new Anniversary edition gets a 10.1-inch UConnect-5 infotainment touchscreen, Jeep’s signature insignia on the front seats and front passenger side instrument panel, connected features, 6 airbags.
- The 2021 Compass has been offered in 7 colour schemes – Techno Metallic Green, Magnesio Grey, Exotic Red, Minimal Grey, Brilliant Black, Bright White and Galaxy Blue.
