MG Motors has officially revealed the much-awaited Gloster SUV for the Indian market. Interested buyers can pre-book the SUV online or via dealerships by paying an initial token amount of Rs 1 lakh. The MG Gloster will be launched in the market in October 2020. The company has also revealed the technical specifications and other details of the full-sized SUV.
The MG Gloster full-sized SUV will be offered in four trim levels – Smart, Sharp, Savvy and Super. The Smart, Sharp and Savvy trim will be made available with six-seat options, while the Sharp and Super will be offered in the 7-seat layout. The MG Gloster is powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged diesel engine that is capable of producing 215bhp of power and 480Nm of torque. For transmitting power, the Gloster gets an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Power is transmitted to all-4 wheels via a shift-on-fly 4WD system. The SUV will also receive a terrain selection system.
The full-sized SUV will offer 7 drive modes – Snow, Sand, Eco, Mud, Auto, Rock and Sport. The upcoming Gloster will be offered with multiple advanced driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic parking assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection and lane departure warning.
For passengers’ safety and security, the MG Gloster full-sized SUV gets 6 airbags, Automatic Vehicle Hold (AVH), 360 Around View Mirror, Electro-mechanical differential lock, driver fatigue reminder system, hill hold control, electronic stability control, hill descent control, traction control system, roll movement intervention, ABS + EBD with brake assist, electronic parking brake with autohold and heated ORVMs.
