MG Motor India has silently increased the prices of the Astor SUV by up to Rs 46,000 depending on the variant. The new MG Astor is now available in the price bracket of Rs 10.28 lakh to Rs 18.13 lakh (ex-showroom). Launched in October 2021, the MG Astor is one of the most feature loaded SUVs on sale in the market.
MG is currently selling around 2,000 to 3,000 units of the Astor SUV per month. The SUV is in high demand, but MG is unable to meet the rising demand due to ongoing chip shortage. The MG Astor is available in 5 trim levels – Style, Super, Sharp, Smart and Savvy.
The SUV is offered with two engine options – a 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.3L turbocharged petrol. The 1.5L NA versions are now expensive by up to Rs 30,000 to Rs 46,000. The 1.3L versions are available in Smart and Sharp variants, which are now pricier by up to Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000.

MG Astor Specifications
It is available in two petrol engine options – a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated and a 1.3-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged. While the former is good for 110bhp and 144Nm of torque, the turbocharged petrol engine produces 140bhp of power and 220Nm of torque.
Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, an 8-speed CVT with 1.5L petrol and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic with 1.3L turbo petrol. In terms of proportions, the new Astor is 4,323mm long, 1,809mm wide and 1,650mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,585mm.

The new Astor comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital instrument console, an electronic power steering with mode adjust (Normal, Urban and Dynamic), a panoramic sunroof, rain sensing wipers, a 6-way electrically adjustable drivers’ seat, automatic AC and others.
For safety & security, the MG Astor gets 6 airbags, ABS with EBD & brake assist, ESP, TCS, HHC, HDC, Emergency Stop Signal, all 4 disc brakes, electronic parking brake with auto hold, TPMS, a 360 degree around view camera, front fog lamps with cornering assist, rear fog lamp and others. The new Astor comes with the segment-first ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), which is sourced from Bosch. The ADAS features include Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Prevention, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, Ford Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Speed warning, and intelligent headlamp control.
