Mahindra & Mahindra announced its sales figure for the month of January 2023 that stood at 64,335 units. The carmaker managed to sell 33,040 units of passenger vehicles (including UVs) and 21,724 units of commercial vehicles along with exports of 3,009 units.
The company said that it has been receiving overwhelming response for its newly-launched products including the Thar RWD and its first all-electric XUV400 SUV. With total sales of 32,915 units, Mahindra’s Utility Vehicles witnessed a sales growth of 66 percent.

The Mahindra Scorpio registered sales of 8,715 units against 3,026 units during the corresponding month last year. It accounted a YoY sales growth of 188 percent. Currently, the Mahindra Scorpio N is available in 30 variants, which are priced from Rs 12.74 lakh to Rs 24.05 lakh. Its powertrain setup includes a 132bhp/175bhp, 2.2 diesel and a 203bhp, 2.0L petrol engine. The Mahindra Scorpio Classic comes in two variants – S and S11 – that cost at Rs 12.64 lakh and Rs 16.14 lakh respectively. Under the hood, it has a 2.2L turbo diesel engine that’s good for 132bhp and 300Nm.
Mahindra Bolero was the second top-selling SUV of the Pune-based carmaker in January 2023. The company retailed 8,574 units as opposed to 3,506 units in the same month last year. It recorded a YoY sales growth of 145 percent. The SUV model lineup is offered in three variants – B4, B6 and B6 (O) – priced at Rs 9.53 lakh, Rs 10 lakh and Rs 10.48 lakh respectively. While the Bolero comes with a 75bhp, 1.5L diesel engine, the Bolero Neo derives power from the 100bhp, 1.5L diesel motor.
In January 2023, the third best-selling Mahindra SUV was the XUV700 that clocked total sales of 5,787 units against 4,119 units in January 2022. It’s currently available in 22 variants spread across two trims – MX and AX, which cost between Rs 13.45 lakh – Rs 25.48 lakh. It can be had with either a 200bhp, 2.0L petrol or a 155bhp/185bhp, 2.2L diesel engine.
