Mahindra XUV700 Electric Leaked Patent Reveals Final Design

We are all aware that Mahindra & Mahindra is currently testing the electric XUV700 SUV, which is slated to go on sale in the next couple of years. The model was first showcased in its concept avatar (XUV.e8), and the latest spy images reveal some interesting details about its final version. What comes as a surprise to us is the recently leaked design patent image that previews its production-ready model. The Mahindra XUV700 electric seems to retain most of its design elements from the concept, although its entire silhouette and dimensions appear similar to its ICE-powered counterpart. Upfront, the electric SUV features a closed-off grille. You can notice T-shaped LED DRLs, which are connected with an LED bar running towards the lower end of the hood. Furthermore, the C-shaped LED headlamps, copper-colored logo, and skid plates differentiate it from its regular model. However, the front bumper and fog lamps are carried forward from the regular petrol/diesel version.

Interior details of the Mahindra XUV.e8 are unknown to us, although it is likely to share a great resemblance to the ICE-powered version. We expect it to have some futuristic design elements and EV-specific features.

So, what else will be special about the new electric XUV700 SUV? It will be the first Mahindra EV to be based on the brand’s new INGLO platform, which falls under Mahindra’s new electric sub-brand – XUV.e. The powertrain setup of the new Mahindra XUV700 electric might include a larger capacity battery pack (around 60kWh – 80kWh), and the EV is likely to deliver a range of up to 500km.

Meanwhile, the company is planning to introduce a 6-seater version of the XUV700 SUV. One of its test mules was recently caught on camera. Apart from the 6-seat layout, no changes will be made to the vehicle. The Mahindra XUV700 6-seater model is reported to hit the roads during the 2023 festive season.
