Mahindra XUV700 3-Row SUV To Launch In Australia In 2022

Mahindra has recently announced prices of the 5-seater XUV700 SUV, while the prices of the 7-seater model will be released in October 2021. According to the Australian media, Mahindra will introduce the new XUV700 SUV in the second half of 2022. It will replace the XUV500 currently on sale in Australia.

The new XUV700 is based on the new front-wheel-drive platform with a provision of 4WD system. It features McPherson strut front suspension with Frequency Selective Damping, which is designed to adapt the dampers’ response based on the road surface. At the back, the SUV gets a multi-link suspension setup.

The new Mahindra XUV700 is equipped with several segment-leading features. It is equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument console. The touchscreen is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, navigation and voice recognition. It gets connected car tech, a panoramic sunroof and a premium Sony-powered sound system.

The 7-seater SUV gets air purifier, ventilated front seats, electrically adjustable driver seat with memory function, automatic climate control, electronic parking brake, 4 driving modes, etc. The new Mahindra XUV700 also gets ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistant System) with features like blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking, driver drowsiness system, etc.

The Mahindra XUV700 for Australia is likely to be offered with the same engine options that powers the India-spec model. The petrol version will be powered by The petrol version will be powered by a 2.0L, 4-cylinder mStallion turbocharged motor pushing out power worth 200bhp and 380Nm of torque. The diesel model will use a 2.2L, 4-cylinder mHawk turbo unit making 155bhp with 360Nm (for the entry-level variants) and 185bhp with 420Nm (MT)/450 (AT) (for higher variants). The SUV is claimed to do 0 to 60kmph under 5 seconds. It will be available with optional AWD (all-wheel-drive) system) and offer 4 drive modes – Zip, Zap, Zoom and Custom.

The SUV comes with a redesigned Mahindra logo, new front grille, a set of headlamps with LED DRLs, flush-fitting door handles, LED tail-lamps, a roof-integrated spoiler, etc. The base model rides on 17-inch steel wheels, while the top-spec model gets 18-inch diamond cut alloys. It measures 4,695mm in length, 1,890mm in width and 1,755mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,750mm. Compared to the XUV500, the XUV seven-double-oh is 110mm longer and has a 50mm longer wheelbase.
