Mahindra XUV400 Formula Edition With A Special Livery Revealed

India is ready to host the fourth round of the ninth season of the Formular E World Championship. The Formula E is a motorsport event for open-wheel electric cars, and this round is happening in Hyderabad. To celebrate the Formula E race, Mahindra has showcased the XUV400 Formula edition alongside the new Gen3 Formula E race car.

The Mahindra XUV400 Formula Edition comes with a special livery that’s inspired by the racing spirit. The new race car’s livery was designed and developed in collaboration by Mahindra Formula E and Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE) studio in the UK.

The Formula Edition livery includes a mix of copper and red finishes and ‘Mahindra’ branding on the hood and sides. The brand’s Formula E name ‘Mahindra Racing’ is placed on the C-pillar. The alloy wheels also come with copper accents.

Mahindra had started accepting bookings for the new XUV400 EV on Republic Day 2023. The SUV received over 10,000 bookings within 4 days. Mahindra said that the electric SUV commands a waiting period of around 6 months. The XUV400 EV is available in two trims – EC and EL – priced between Rs 15.99 lakh and Rs 18.99 lakh (introductory prices ex-showroom). It is positioned against the likes of the Tata Nexon EV and the MG ZS EV.

The Mahindra XUV400 EV is available with two battery packs: a 34.5kWh with a certified range of 375km and a 39.4kWh with a range of 456km. The front-axle mounted electric motor offers 150PS and 310Nm of torque. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in just 8.3 seconds, making it the fastest in the segment. Using a 50kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from zero to 80 percent in less than 50 minutes. The battery can be fully charged using a 7.2kW or 3.3kW AC charger in 6 hours 30 minutes, and 13 hours, respectively.
