Mahindra has recently launched the new XUV400 electric SUV in the price bracket of Rs 15.99 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom). These are introductory prices and only applicable for the first 500 bookings for each variant of the XUV400. Mahindra has officially announced to start delivering the top-spec Mahindra XUV400 EL variant from March 2023. On the other hand, deliveries for the lower-spec XUV400 EC variant will only commence during the festive season.
Mahindra had started accepting bookings for the XUV400 electric SUV on January 26, 2022. The SUV has received positive response from buyers, as it garns over 10,000 bookings within a few days. The company has also revealed that the newly launched XUV400 commands a waiting period of around 4 months.
The Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV is available with two battery packs – a 34.5kWh with EC variant and a 39.4kWh battery pack with EL variant. The batteries power the front-axle-mounted electric motor that churns out 150bhp of power and 310Nm of torque. It is also the fastest model in its segment. The XUV400 is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in just 8.3 seconds before hitting a top speed of 150kmph.
The entry-level EC variant is claimed to offer a driving range of 375km on a single charge, while the EL variant with larger battery pack offers a driving range of 456km on a single charge. The SUV offers three driving modes – Fun, Fast and Fearless, which adjust the steering and throttle response and change the level of regenerative braking.
Using a 50kW DC fast charger, the batteries can be charged from zero to 80 percent in less than 50 minutes. It also supports 7.2kW and 3.3kW AC chargers, which fully charge the batteries in 6 hours 30 minutes and 13 hours respectively. In terms of proportions, the XUV400 is 4200mm long, 1821mm wide and has a wheelbase of 2600mm. It has a boot space of 378-litres that can further be extended by up to 418-litres.
