Mahindra XUV300 Bookings Temporarily Closed; Facelift Incoming

Mahindra & Mahindra has temporarily halted bookings for the XUV300 subcompact SUV in anticipation of its facelifted version. This decision was confirmed by Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO (Auto & Farm sector), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., during an investor meeting. He indicated, “What is going off from a number point of view is also 300 because we’re not taking bookings on that now. So, clearly that whole thing is gone and that will come back when we come with the mid-cycle refresh.” While the launch date for the Mahindra XUV300 facelift has not been disclosed, it is expected to arrive in showrooms in the coming weeks. Expected changes to the updated XUV300 include enhancements in features and styling. While the engine lineup will remain unchanged from the pre-facelift model, the compact SUV is anticipated to introduce an Aisin-sourced 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. This new transmission will be available with the existing 1.2L turbo petrol engine, producing 131bhp. Additionally, both the 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engines will be offered, along with the choice of 6-speed manual and AMT gearboxes.

New Mahindra XUV300 facelift

The interior layout of the 2024 Mahindra XUV300 facelift is expected to retain its current configuration but will feature a newly designed dashboard equipped with dual 10.25-inch screens. One screen will function as a touchscreen infotainment system, while the other will serve as the digital instrument cluster. The updated version is likely to include features such as ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, rear air-con vents, and a panoramic sunroof, among others.

Stylistically, the new XUV300 will draw inspiration from the upcoming Mahindra BE electric SUVs set to debut from 2025 onwards. The compact SUV will feature a more angular front fascia with slight tweaks to the bumper, a revised headlamp assembly, restyled drop-down LED DRLs, and a new two-part grille with a larger central air intake. Additionally, expect newly designed alloys, a tailgate with a full-width LED light bar, C-shaped LED taillamps, and a slightly repositioned registration plate on the 2024 Mahindra XUV300 facelift.
