The much-awaited new-gen Mahindra Thar 2020 will finally go on sale in the Indian market on October 2, 2020. On the same day, Mahindra will also start accepting bookings for the new lifestyle SUV. Ahead of the launch, the sales training document of the Mahindra has been leaked online. The sales training document reveals detail about the variants and the accessories list.
The new Mahindra Thar 2020 will be introduced in 3 variants – LX, AX and AX (O). The company is also offering several accessories with the new Thar. The Mahindra Genuine accessories for the all-new Thar come in 4 different categories – Styling, Comfort & Convenience, Technology and Safety. Few of the accessories include claddings, chrome kit, body decal, alloys, front DRL and fog lamps, seat cover, steering cover, floot mats, magnetic sunshade, vibe speaker upgrade, amplifier & subwoofer, pioneer audio system, body covers, scuff plates, remote lock key and others. The Mahindra Thar 2020 also offers an “Adventure Series” of accessories, which comes in 5 different categories – Vehicle Protection, Camping, GoPro Adventure Camera, Maintenance, and Apparel. The Vehicle Protection accessories include mud tamer mats, dirt blocka mat, universal boot saver liner and moulded mud flaps.
The Camping accessories include tri shovel, digger shovel, quick step, door hinge step, tailgate mounted snack trey, lantern torch, folding chairs, sleeping bag, sleeping bed, tents and bagpacks. On the other hand, the GO Pro adventure camera section includes HERO8 Black, Hero7 Black, Hero7 Silver, suction cup, handlebar/pole mount, 3 way grip/tripod, chest mount, jaw flex clamp, curved + flat mount, sports kit, adventure kit, dual battery + charger, and protective lens/glass.
The maintenance accessories include tyre repair kit, digital type gauge and RV Air compressor. On the other hand, the Apparel kit includes sim band, compack towel, I tech towel, coolest arm sleeves and eyes lantern torch.
The new Mahindra Thar 2020 is available with 2 engine options – a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder mStallion petrol and a 2.2-litre mHawk turbo-diesel. While the former is good for 150bhp and 320Nm, the oil burner produces 130bhp and 320Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The AX trim misses out on automatic gearbox, while the LX variant misses petrol manual option.
