Mahindra Thar 2020 Explained In A Detailed Video

Homegrown UV maker, Mahindra has officially revealed the much-awaited new Thar 2020 in India. The new model is scheduled to be launched in the country on October 2, 2020. The new Mahindra Thar 2020 will be offered with a choice of petrol and diesel engines in both petrol and automatic options. Here is a first look video revealing the exterior, interior and other details of the new Mahindra Thar.

The new Mahindra Thar 2020 will be offered in 3 trim levels – AX, AX Option and LX. This entry-level variant comes packed with decent features like front fog lamps, LED tail-lamps, a fixed soft top, manual IRVM, rear parking sensors, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, rear parking sensors and snow chain provision for tyres. This model rides on 16-inch steel wheels. For off-road lovers, this entry-level Thar variant gets locking differential, removable doors and welded tow hooks. The new Thar 2020 is available with two engine options – a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel and a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol. While the former is good for 130bhp and 300Nm, the turbo petrol unit offers 148bhp and 300Nm of torque. The entry-level AX trim is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox only. The Hyundai AX optional variant gets forward facing rear seats with a tip and slide mechanism in co-driver seat, height-adjustable driver’s seat, power windows in front doors and remote keyless entry.

New Mahindra Thar 2020 Interior

The top-spec Mahindra Thar LX variant is equipped with several high-end features. The petrol version is available with an automatic option, while diesel gets both manual and automatic. In terms of features, this variant gets convertible or hard top versions, roll cage, 18-inch deep silver alloys, multi-functional steering wheel, USB charging port, cruise control, follow me home headlamps, automatic AC, etc.

The top-spec model also gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and voice commands and SMS read-out. Other features include powered ORVMs, tyre pressure monitoring system, ESP with roll-over mitigation, brake locking differential, etc.
