Mahindra Scorpio N Z6 Loses Key Features- Prices Increased

As a part of the IMCR (Integrated Material Cost Reduction) changes, Mahindra has removed some of the features from the lower variants of the Scorpio-N. The majority of the feature deletion is made to the mid-spec Mahindra Scorpio N. The Z4 variant has also faces some minor deletion of features.

The Mahindra Scorpio N Z6 variant was earlier equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Mahindra’s AdrenoX interface. This infotainment unit is compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with connected car features and built-in Alexa with voice assist. This variant was also equipped with the 7-inch TFT multi-information display in the instrument console.

Instead of an 8-inch screen, the Scorpio-N Z6 comes equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. This unit only supports wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also misses out on connected car features. Instead of a 7-inch MID, the Z6 trim’s instrument console now has a 4.2-inch monochrome display. The cooled glovebox was earlier available as a standard fitment. However, this feature is now only offered with the top-spec Z8 and Z8L variants.

The new Mahindra Scorpio N is available with two engine options – a 2.0L turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. The turbo petrol unit is capable of producing 203PS of power and 380Nm of torque. The diesel offers two states of tunes – 132PS/300Nm and 175PS/400Nm. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. Some diesel variants are also available with 4WD drivetrain.

Mahindra has also increased the price of the Z6 trim by up to Rs 31,000. The Mahindra Scorpio N is available in the price bracket of Rs 13.26 lakh to Rs 24.54 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The SUV comes as a more rugged alternative to the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari and the MG Hector Plus.
