Mahindra Scorpio Classic Unveiled – Photos, Specs, Features

Mahindra has announced to continue sell the previous Scorpio alongside the new Scorpio N in the country. However, the older model has been re-badged as the new Mahindra Scorpio Classic. The new Mahindra Scorpio Classic is offered in two trims – Classic S and Classic S11. Both trims are offered in 7 and 9-seat options.

In terms of styling, the new Scorpio Classic comes with a new grille design and a faux skid plate, and Mahindra’s new ‘Twin Peaks’ logo. The top-spec Classic S11 gets 17-inch dual-tone alloys, while the Classic S gets steel wheels.

Inside the cabin, the new Classic gets a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a touch-sensitive control on the left side of the screen. It comes with dark wooden trim inserts in the centre console and piano black inserts on the dashboard. The gear lever is sourced from the new Thar.

In terms of safety & security, the new Scorpio Classic gets dual front airbags, panic brake indication, engine immobiliser, anti-theft warning, seat belt reminder lamp, speed alert and auto door lock while driving.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic Engine Specs

Powering the new Mahindra Scorpio Classic is a 2.2-litre 4-cylinder mHawk turbo diesel engine that produces 130bhp at 3,750rpm and a peak torque of 300Nm at 1600-2800rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The SUV rides on 17-inch wheels shod with 235/65 section tyres. For suspension duties, the SUV gets double wish-bone type, independent front coil spring at the front and Multi-link coil spring with Anti-roll bar at the rear. Dimensionally, the new Scorpio Classic is 4456mm in length, 1820mm in width and 1995mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2680mm.
