Mahindra Scorpio Classic Launch On Aug 20 – 14% Better Mileage

Mahindra & Mahindra will announce prices of the new Scorpio Classic SUV on 20th August 2022. It’s essentially the updated version of the SUV’s previous generation. The model lineup will be offered in two trims – S and S11 and two seating configurations – 7 and 9-seats. The Mahindra Scorpio Classic uses a new 2.2L Gen 2 mHawk turbo diesel engine that’s good enough for 132bhp and 300Nm. Transmission duties will be done by a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The updated motor is claimed to be 55kg lighter than before and deliver 14 percent better fuel efficiency. In order to improve its handling, the company has made some mechanical updates. While its roll stiffness has been increased, the body roll has been reduced. The SUV has upgraded steering input and provides the high speed handling.

Minimal changes have been made inside the cabin. The new Mahindra Scorpio Classic comes with a new 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Android Auto and screen mirroring. You can notice wooden inserts on the dashboard and centre console and the steering wheel gets a leatherette finish. Unlike the old model that has Grey and Black interior, the new Scorpio Classic has a Black and Beige theme. Read: Mahindra XUV700 Electric (XUV.e8) – Launch Timeline, Details

As mentioned above, the SUV will come with 7 and 9-seater layout options. While the former features two captain seats in the middle row and a bench seat in the rear, the latter has bench in the middle row and jump seats in the third row. The list of features includes steering mounted controls, rear parking sensors, cruise control, AC vents for the middle row, dual airbags and more.
